Cary Ciesielski
Director / Editor / Sound Design
Cary Ciesielski has a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Film and Video Production, and a Broadcast Certificate in Radio Production. His many awards and nominations have come as producer, director, sound designer, composer, editor, and sound recordist. Cary has been working with Twisted Pair since 1997.
“It really doesn’t matter what the job is. I get a great sense of satisfaction no matter what role I’m playing.”
Cary has co-created national documentary series with international sales, directed national and provincial television campaigns, created industry leading corporate, safety, and training videos, and designed world-class nature soundscapes. He has been called a true “renaissance man” of the industry by his peers.
“Nothing beats getting an honest emotional reaction from a client or audience. When a client calls me every name in the book for making them cry as they look at an edit for the first time. That’s a good day. That’s what makes me proud to do this work.”
Hildy Bowen
Marketing / Management / Producer
Hildy W. Bowen has turned a Bachelor of Arts in English into a two and a half decade career in film and television. She has been the production manager and producer on several documentaries and dramatic films in that time including a two-hour live arts gala attended by Queen Elizabeth during the Saskatchewan Centennial.
“Nothing gives me more joy than creating the perfect spread sheet.”
Hildy has been managing the office at Twisted Pair for over a decade, producing, budgeting, casting and scheduling numerous projects. She also finds time to manage her husband, three children, an increasingly neurotic and cantankerous cat and a bearded dragon.
“Watching a session come together perfectly with actors in two time zones, a client in a third, and us in a forth is incredibly satisfying. Unfortunately, that’s never the way it plays out in my head the night before.”
Ross Hudgins
Sound Editor / Engineer / Rerecording Mixer
Upon obtaining an Honours diploma from the Ontario Institute of Audio Recording Technology (OIART), Ross Hudgins began his professional career in the field of radio production in Saskatoon. Within three years, he had moved to Regina, and joined Twisted Pair Productions in 2001, where he continues to bring thousands of commercials and projects to life.
“If I can go home at the end of the day having learned something, that’s a good day. Finding a new way to solve a problem. A job like this requires curiosity, because technology is changing everyday.”
Ross also has an affinity for music sourcing and licensing. He enjoys finding just the right music for a project. His attention to detail helps him handle our vast libraries of digital assets; designing our data backup strategies; and managing media files including complex 360°/Virtual Reality video elements.
“Nobody wants to miss an air date because of a bad QC report. Attention to detail is a serious thing in our business. Spelling, specs, versions, sample rates…it all matters…it all counts.”
Michael Flaman
Programming / Designing / Visual Effects
Michael Flaman has always had a passion for art and innovation. He has a certification in New Media Communications, where he learned the fundamentals of design, development, videography, audio engineering, and more. He joined the Twisted Pair team in 2017.
“No matter how small or how simple a project might seem, it’s a big deal to somebody, so I always try to shatter expectations and make it a big deal to everybody.”
Though relatively new to the industry, Michael has lead development on many interactive displays and applications, assisted in editing national and local television campaigns, brought visual effect ideas to life, and is constantly pushing the bleeding edge of virtual reality.
“It never gets old watching a client see their vision come to life for the first time. Their wonder and amazement is what gets me through the tedious programming in the development process.”
